Painting
is the practice of applying paint or some other medium to a surface. Usually, a
brush is used to apply paint on the surface, but it is not compulsory. The most
common surface used in the painting is paper. Some artists use walls, canvas,
wood, glass, clay, copper and concrete as their material. In exceptional cases,
painters use materials such as sand and gold leaf. Practically, painting
methodologies depend on the surface. Therefore, artists like to stick to one or
two types of surfaces and produce high-quality paintings. Painting mediums play
a major role in modern-day paintings. Alkyd oil paints, water mixable oil
paints, resin oil colours and oil painting sticks are used as paint mediums.
When an artist finishes a painting, the product is not completed until it gets a frame. Therefore, painting framing plays a major role in commercial paintings. These frames come in different shapes, sizes, colours and materials. It protects the painting, and it adds some beauty to the paintings as well. The quality of the frame must depend on the price of the product
and the quality of the painting.
Nothing is permanent except change. Therefore, the quality of any painting will decrease over the time. The best solution for that is to use canvas prints. It uses a really simple technique. It is used to reproduce an original picture on a canvas. Semi-cotton materials are widely used as the material for canvas. Ink-jet printers are commonly used as the printing source. Giclee, off-set printing, and repligraph are used as printing techniques.
Poster painting is another aspect of modern-day painting. Usually, synthetic materials are used as the surface. Oil paint is used as the painting medium. Posters are made not for an artistic purpose but for business purposes. Therefore, attractiveness is the key for a successful poster. Posters do not use complicated frames. Therefore, poster framing does not require that much effort or money. These frames give additional strength to the surface and make the painting static.
There are so many painting techniques. This shows only two types of them.
